Depass v. AIG Life Insurance Company

Depass v. AIG Life Insurance Company (ERISA Life Insurance, pre-suit resolution by payment of benefits).  This was an ERISA life insurance claim involving some very unusual and poorly worded language defining qualifications for coverage.  The insurer read the policy in such a way as to deny coverage.  The firm conducted legal research, wrote a few letters, and persuaded the insurer they had read the policy the wrong way.  The insurer voluntarily paid the entire claim – in others words an outright victory achieved in short order.
