I have been a principal of the firm since 1983. My practice focus is business and real estate transactions and finance. I regularly advise and represent financial institutions, business owners, property owners and real estate investors, professional practices and individuals.
I represent many different industries and a range of concerns, including start-ups, buying and selling a business or major assets, employee matters and relationships with suppliers, customers and others. My representation of financial institutions includes commercial and residential closings, workouts and creditor rights in bankruptcy, as well as institutional business matters. When disputes cannot be resolved through negotiation, I assist in litigation involving these areas. My real estate practice includes commercial and residential closings, and advice regarding title and financial aspects of acquisition, financing and leasing of land, apartments, industrial, small shopping centers, office buildings and homes.
My goal is to add value by helping to define and then attain client objectives at reasonable cost. To provide exceptional service, I actively develop an understanding of client objectives to provide perspective that combines expertise in legal and business issues with judgment from many years in practice.
I was born in Fairfield, Connecticut and have lived in Georgia since 1976. I received an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business (B.B.A. with Distinction), a law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law (J.D., cum laude) and a Master of Laws in Taxation from Emory University (LLM). I am married with 4 children.
